Jessie Said:

How could using project based learning help with issues in the classroom management?

We Answered:

To me, project based learning is much more "user friendly" in the sense that kids are more often choosing something they are interested in to research and learn about. That is, of course, within the context of the subject area. If we're exploring history, then a student couldn't do a project on a football team, but they might explore the effects of history on sports in general.

When kids are engaged in what they are learning, they are much more likely to behave, cooperate, focus and learn!

what is PBL (Problem Based Learning)? how can i use it in project management?

We Answered:

Students work cooperatively to solve real-life model problems, and by completing the group activity are also learning the unit skills and content. It encourages additional metacognitive and group work skills that are not usually present in "traditional" instructional methods.

It is primarily used in classes where students are highly self-motivated to begin with (e.g. advanced public school classes, college classes), because actual attention to the target content is entirely student-driven.

What are the advantages of providing project- based learning experiences?

The advantages are that PB learning gets to the heart of kids interests. Kids, like adults, are more likely to retain what they're learning if they are personally invested in the process.
