Nellie Said:

is there an app like the rossetta stone language learning program available in the app store?

We Answered:

BYKI is the same teaching method as Rosetta Stone at a fraction of the price. It's a flashcard based system to increase your vocabulary knowledge as is Rosetta Stone. They now have an iPhone for their software. I wouldn't recommend the BYKI or Rosetta Stone methods if you are a beginner learner but if you are looking to expand your vocabulary base, they are two viable options despite the high cost especially in Rosetta's case.

How do I change my product category on Yahoo Store Editor?

We Answered:

1. Access the section page containing the item you want to move like "Food".
2. Click the yellow "Edit" button in the top navigation bar.
3. In the contents field cut or copy the item ID you want to show on a different section page.
4. Access the section page you want the item to show like "Art".
5. Click the yellow "Edit" button in the top navigation bar.

The other way to move items from one Section to another Section:

1. Navigate through the Store Editor to your item page, that needs to be copied to another section.

2. Click on the "Copy"/"Cut" button on the Editing Toolbar to copy that page to your clipboard.

3. Navigate through the Editor to the section or subsection you wish to restore this items page to.

4. Click on the link on your clipboard that is associated with that item page. The item page will then be pasted into your site at the location you are at in the Editor.

5. Repeat steps 2-6 as necessary for any other item pages, that you want to rearrange.

You will need to publish your Store Editor to save changes. You can publish the Store Editor by clicking the yellow "Publish" button in the top navigation bar.

Store Editor allows you to setup your store that is several Sections deep. You can create several items and sections to organize similar items at one place. You can cut/copy the items from one section and place them into the another preferred section.

Creating a Section also creates a navigation button that links to the new section you just created. The default page layout for navigation buttons places the navigation default in the leftmost column on the Homepage.

However, creating sub-section does not create a navigation button in the left navigation bar, instead a text link within that section page is created to the new sub-section you just created.

Creating new Sections:
=====================

1. Go to your homepage in your Store Editor

2. In Store Editor toolbar, click on the "Section" button. This takes you to a page containing two fields, Name and Caption.

3. In the Name field, enter a name that describes Section you are creating. Examples: Gifts, Baseball, Printers.

4. If you would like to add text to the top of the Section page, you can enter it in the Caption field.

5. Then, click on the "Update" button to view your new Section page.

Creating new Sub-sections:
=========================

Similarly, you can create sub-sections (ie sub-category) within existing Section:

1. Launch the Store Editor.

2. Navigate to the section page.

3. Clicked "Section" in the Editor Toolbar. It allows to create a new sub-section within the current section.

4. In the Name field, entered name of the subsection. Also specified valued to other fields Headline, Caption etc. Image can be uploaded using the Image button.

5. Click the "Update" button to save the new sub-section page.

You can see this new sub-section under the main Section at the bottom of the page. You can click this link to open this sub-section and add items to it.

You can delete a sub-section by clicking the "Edit" button in the toolbar and then click the "Delete" button.

Viewing the tree structure:
==========================

Moreover, if you can press the yellow button: "Contents" from the toolbar, you would see the tree structure. The collapsible "index" (home page) would show the content at the same level for all the child pages.

The recommended tree structure is:

index
----- section1
-------- item1

----- section2
-------- item2

The "Contents" field in the section page is used to save the page-ids. On clicking "Edit" button for any Section page, you can see the "Contents" textbox. These page-ids can be rearranged and assigned to different sections, accordingly.

To learn more about working with Store Editor, see:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/store/edit…

6. Paste the item ID in the Contents field.
7. Click "Update" to save changes.

The item will now show in the "Art" section page.

Can someone give me an example of latent learning inside a walmart store?

We Answered:

latent learning is when you don't realize you learned something until you are actually doing the action you learned. i would assume that in a store like walmart it has to do with advertisements. So in walmarts case, they pretty much train people to look for that stupid smiley face with the sale prices. when people react to the sale as they have seen they are supposed to, that idea was learned and then used.

Which web site is best for learning how to store and work with photos on my pc?

We Answered:

I, too, have Kodak, but I don't use the software. Do you have a newer model printer? It sounds like your printer is just for photos. The newer model printers coming out have ports to insert memory cards from digital cameras, and instructions on how to print photos with explanations on proper settings.

I just insert my camera's memory card into the proper port and my printer/copier/scanner uploads the pix to my computer. Then I have a choice of which pix I want to keep.

I suggest going to the website of your computer's printer and not the Kodak printer, to see what options you have open for uploading and printing pictures. You may not even require new software, it may be in your computer's printers capacity to print out photos.

I did not realize my printer could do this until I read the entire owners manual. My camera's manual neglected to tell me this information. I almost bought a special printer for my pix but a double check of my computer and printer saved me the cost.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Have you or anyone you know become very fluent with simply learning a language using the bought store CDs?

We Answered:

You can learn the basics of a foreign language that way...

It takes years to become very good at a language and that's even if you live in the country where it is spoken...

The best way that I know of is listening to either actual native speakers or DVDs...

For example, pretty much every big movie made in the US has been translated into French, German, and every other major language in the world...

You may need to review the grammar eventually but it's much easier if you already know a lot of expressions and vocabulary first.

It may take you a few years...but if you really want to learn that language, you can do it

Learning a language is not difficult...it just requires time.
