Courtney Said:
I am searching for AWSOME art lesson plans... who can tell me the best art project for upperschool? We Answered:
-logo design for a company they make up (advertising/business aspect of art)-photography study (can you do darkroom or even just digital on computers) Print and make a compostition, collage, motiff, whatever
-make jewelry
-have scrap metal donated from a junk yard and do sculptures. they can cut, polish, and glue-gun it together if you can't weld or solter (maybe one big class project and a big sculpture to put on school grounds permanently)
-teach them to do eachothers portraits or self portraits (draw, sketch, paint or charactures) Maybe have them pic a genre/style. (i.e. picasso-ize it! or van gough)
...wish I knew what supplies or capabilities you have.
ADDITIONS:
-there's always paper mache with chicken wire to sculpt and paint
-if its this time of the year, sculpt (not carve) pumpkins
-they can make their own stamp. carve out of erasers their own logo, initials, or whatever - like maybe they can sign year books with it. There's links for how to make em on the web

5th grade art lesson plans? We Answered:
Okay well um first of all I suggest DO NOT let the kids get whatever they want (including stuff like paint, oil and dry pastels, modeling clay, sand and rocks etc.) and just start using it as they may make a mess, leave it out, handle it improperly, or it just may make the art teacher mad as she may not want them into everything while she is gone. I say you give them a few options of using magazines (every art room should have magazines somewhere) and scissors to make collages. Or my art teacher has coloring sheets that we can TRACE and color or decorate with markers, crayons, and coloring pencil. The usuals. If the teacher does not have coloring or as my teacher calls them tracing sheets then you can print some yourself. I say keep it simple. Crayons, coloring pencils, markers, construction paper, tracing sheets, glue and the magazines. as you certainly do not want to get yourself and the kids in trouble and have a teacher on your back. And make sure before you go that all materials are put up, tables are clean, floor is swept, AC is off, and windows and blinds are closed. I say start cleaning up 5-10 minutes before the bell rings.Good luck and much luv,

Jackson Pollock...any art teachers out there with some lesson plans? 'Drip' me a line, cheers!?We Answered:
You didn't mention a grade level, but did this with younger elementary students:Use the cardboard tray that soda comes in or the ones that bottled water comes in - a cookie sheet might do, but the side walls might not be high enough.
Next place paper in the tray, have marbles in small containers that you can scoop out with a spoon. Then one by one, dump a marble in the tray and then tip it so the marble rolls around. Move on to the next color until you have used all the colors.

Anyone know of a good source for Art class lesson plans? We Answered:
I would ask the older kids what they would like to learn to draw, anywhere from still life to drawing life like objects. What i was taught was drawing simple objects. like: cups or their hands, as far as other figures ask them to bring something they might wanna draw or get better about drawing something they already did and want to improve. as far as the little ones i would suggest something fun things they enjoy, like or love to play with at home school etc. This might work on the older kids my teacher had us keep a book of drawings. we would be asked to draw a car, or a t.v., something we like doing think of it as verbs its what they do. hope that works glCathy Said:
Does anybody know any unique art lesson plans/projects for kids 6-8?We Answered:
Kids of the age 6-8 are always imagining new things...so the best activity for them would be to draw what is on their mind! You could use a variety of approaches to this-
1)Painting:-
a) Theme- Give them a theme like 'My B'day Party', 'Scenary Outside my Bedroom Window' or 'Visit to the Zoo' and let them draw and colour it with either crayons or color pencils or any other medium they're comfortable with...this will give them a chance to imagine what the situation of their theme will look like and this enhances their creativity!
b) Tracing- Tell them to bring them pictures of their favourite T.V/Storybook characters and make them trace it out and colour them.
c)Tecniques- Teach them vareity of tecniques such as spray-painting with a tooth brush, blow-painting with a straw etc.
2)Craft
The period b/w 5-9 years of age is the stage where children should necessarily undertake some activity that enhances their motor skills..Craft is one such way. Teach the children how to make items with a vareity of objects especially ones they can use at home such as pen-holders and masks. Origami is the safest craft since it does not involve any sharp object like scissors.
HOPE I HELPED!!
