Business Lesson Plans

Sonia Said:

I want to start a small business...let me know your thoughts.?

We Answered:

I would not contract to to this for them. I would develop a curriculum and then sell it. With one good curriculum you could sell to multiple home schools, private schools and day cares. Then you could continuouslty add to and expand the curriculum by adding components -that can all be sold. Also, each year you can sell updates.

Brandon Said:

effective lesson plans for business studies. topic on market research for aged group 14 - 16?

We Answered:

We use to do a thing in school were you had to run and market a busness and also one where you had to buy and monitor stocks. The one thing that may be good is to split them into research groups and have them develop and market a product to another class. have the other class and maybe a few teachers select the best product and have a little prize.

Diana Said:

I need help planning a Business English oral lesson?

We Answered:

Business is negotiation. You will negotiate to buy, to sell, to conclude contracts with suppliers, to fix the staff salaries and so on. What is more, you have to negotiate with regulators, Banks, Insurances. It means that the business life is a permanent negotiation with others people who are defending their own interests.

Charlene Said:

I need some ideas for lesson plans for an overview of business management class. Recommended web resources?

We Answered:

Business Management is a HUGE topic. Think of all the different courses that are involved in getting a BCom or MBA- those are ALL different parts of Business Management. You need to narrow down your focus and also tell us a bit more about the students- are you thinking of a class for middle school students, adults at night school, or graduate students at a university? BIG DIFFERENCES.

Marian Said:

need an idea for a class. Need to teach a multi-cultural lesson plan for business, 9th grade level.?

We Answered:

Well, I'm not a teacher yet but I'm volunteering thru Junior Achievement. How about focusing on interviewing/hiring candidates from various backgrounds?
I guess the overall issue would be "creating a multi-cultural work environment". You could start with a brainstorming exercise to create a concept map. Then break the class into groups to focus on one of the nodes from the map - Describe a scenario related to the selected node (say "Difficult communication") and give three actions that could be taken to improve the situation ("Sensitivity training; Team event; One-to-one meetings).
Each group would then present their results.

Just a thought. Hope it helps.
