Creative Lesson Plans
Bryan Said:
I have just become a lead teacher in a two year old room and i am looking for creative lesson plan ideas? We Answered:
Twos learn through their senses so try to focus on activities that involve touch, taste, hear, and smell. Cooking activities are a hit. You can let them stir and pour pre-measured ingredients. Making musical instruments are fun. Music and movement is very fun for this age so I would also try to look up musical games and try to download some appropriate music for this age group. Greg & Steve have some pretty good music for younger children.Don't forget about involving parents! Every Friday send "homework". Give a shape or color checklist, have them color a picture, something. Let parents feel involved. They will love you for it.

Can anyone help me think of a creative lesson plan for teaching Kindergarten students about community jobs?We Answered:
Curious George would be good books for this topic. They have many books from a fireman to construction worker. You could always talk with the local fire department and see if they would bring a firetruck for the kids to see and explore. Also try the police department about bringing a police car or even a police dog. Take a tour of the school visit the principal, secretary, v.principal, cafeteria cooks, the custodians, the librarian, and see if the school can have a bus driver come in. I think the tour of the school is a great idea(they do this in my son's class), this is a good way for the children to get to know their school and also be subjected to many jobs. After the tour my son's class had to write about their favorite job(with help of course), or if they were unable to write they colored pictures of bus drivers or painted pictures of the different jobs.

Do Teachers/Educators worry about creating creative lesson plans? We Answered:
YES YES YES,I am not a teacher but I am a student teacher,
(a student who totally takes over for a teacher)
I basically substitute, but, I have to do even more than that,
I have to read what I will be teaching for the day,
Create a few review questions, from yesterday's lesson,
Create an interesting lesson,
(Usually consisting of about three parts, I try to never use the book, but I always use the book to teach,)
I usually create a creative powerpoint, with a few neat pictures and videos, (which they take notes to,
then do a fun lab/ in school project,
(I have used a wide variety, from making a cell using food objects, to collecting fallen leaves outside, and measuring mass, volume, etc.)
PLANNING is a teachers LIFE
But thats not all. You have to be able to affectively teach a lesson, usually two or three times, in two or three different ways, (because everyone learns differently,) then pass out work, make sure the students do the work (and not play,) help those who werent paying attention, collect the work, grade it (which takes forever,) pass out home work, collect the homework, contact the parents of those who didnt do there homework, go over the homework, grade that, record grades, etc.
People dont realize it, but teaching is one of the most stressful jobs in the world.
If you become a teacher, you will soon realize why most kids think teachers dont have lives.

Does anyone have any fun and super creative lesson plans for beginning tech 1 theatre? We Answered:
Hey there again! Remember me??I would suggest having them first of all design a set for a certain setting. place or time, you know, something like outer space, or the wild west, that they can really imagine a lot of different things. Like a paper and ink sketch. Once their paper and ink is finished, take one sketch and have the class have fun designing a scale model for that set. Watch closely if there's anything to be changed about how they work (too much paint, hammering to close to edges). You can do this multiple days, with different peoples pictures to liven things up a little!
I don't know much about rigging, however, so you may want to consult google for that one...
and finally for special effects, this is where they can be the most creative. Bring some odds and ends and then have a mini script written out that you will be reading through. Make sure all the special Fx are written in the script where they belong (but as sounds and what needs to happen). Have them try to puzzle through making all the different sounds, and events using the things that they have (the things you brought with!).
Good Luck and have fun!
P.S. how did your other theater class go?? the the students like the games I suggested?? did you end up using any of them???
