I've seen on this website http://www.onlinetefl.com/tefl-courses/combined-tefl-courses-20.html that you can?

We Answered:

It's certainly not just a con. I've researched their courses a few times and not yet found any bad reviews. The question then is whether their courses are worthwhile. About.com has a fairly glowing review. But it sounds like, with your qualifications and experience, these courses might not be necessary for you. Try to get in contact with the sorts of schools where you'd like to teach to see what qualifications they expect from potential English teachers. Also don't forget to investigate the different courses that i-to-i offers, as one of the longer courses might include content that would be useful to you or might be more highly valued by potential employers. It could also help to find someone who has experience with English-teaching work in Russia, as such a person will be able to give you advice about how hard it is and whether these courses would be of any use.

Help! I need ESL resources for a very advanced level private student?

We Answered:

Radio 4 is a good idea.
You could also use articles from "The Times"," Telegraph", newspaper &/or magazines. There's " Newsweek", " The Economist"..... They can be used for discussion or you could ask her to read & then give a presentation of the content.
Give her a topic for debate, say.... on Human Rights & ask her to defend her position. Topics could arise from articles read.
Presentation of a book, film, famous political speech............ You just have to be inventive as, at this level, you are unlikely to find suitable course books.

What do I teach in my first ESL lesson?

We Answered:

Since it is a complete beginner class you will have to do a lot of modelling. You say it first and then get them to insert their details.when teaching vocabulary, use pictures and repeat the word again and again. Gradually adding bits of the sentence. start off with familair topics. Like family, hobbies, likes and dislikes hometown. etc. Teach them the sentence structures by drilling.

I know it's very daunting.I'm teaching conversational English and found it very difficult in the beginning. But one thing that I have found useful is to actually use a starter or beginner course book to help you get an idea of what students at this level need to know. You can adapt the writing and reading activities to use as speaking ones or support your speaking activites. I use New Headway elementary and intermediate. But books like Natural English, New English File elementary and Cutting Edge Elem have some really nice ideas. And the listening activies are greatt if you are not too sure about you own word stress or intonation. These are some of the websites I use sometimes

Any creative ideas to teach intermediate adults English?

We Answered:

I always bring a folder of (full page) pictures from magazines with me to class. If you need a practice task, you can have students tell what they see in the pictures. You can have them work in groups on one picture and then share their ideas with the entire class. The instructor (you) is able to control the time and level of difficulty by asking follow-up Qs, for more details, what will happen next, etc. This will give you a chance to note new vocabulary or grammar weaknesses. Also this is excellent for when the main part of the lesson has been completed but there is still 10 or 15 minutes of teaching time.
Another thing I do is have one student make a sentence. The next student must make it longer (by adding an adjective, time, giving more detail, etc. When it gets too long or difficult, start over. If students do this every class for 5 minutes, soon they will be making long complex sentences (and gain confidence).
