Question about a lesson plan?

We Answered:

Key words:
"Preparing for the possibility of confusion."

That's almost identical to your answer choice B.

Kathy Said:

im a student teacher...what must be done in order to plan for long time periods? example to plan the lessons?

We Answered:

1. Get a hold of the standards and objectives set down by your state school board as a part of No Child Left Behind.

2. Go through those objectives and highlight the ones you feel are
A) most important
B) the best fit for your class and class materials at that time

3. prioritize the highlighted objectives and estimate how much time you want to spend instructing on each objective (more time on the difficult concepts).

4. get a copy of the school calendar and map out when you want to teach around school holidays and days off. For example, if you want to spend 4 days on something, then look for a week when you have a day off for assembly, etc.

5. For each objective, make an impromptu test or quiz, maybe a question or two to figure out how you're going to assess their acquisition of the knowledge.

6. make up 5-6 activities to instruct each objective

7. make a contingency plan for when things go wrong.

Sarah Said:

Can you give me a bad lesson plan?

We Answered:

Okay try this.

The first thing you do is spring a pop quiz that is at least 15 questions long.
Now here is the part that may seem tricky: you want the quiz to be on the homework that you gave them from the night before, but the thing is that you assigned the homework in order to prepare them for todays lessons, therefore the students have no idea what they are doing if they didn't do the homework, but also if you choose a confusing subject that they are still confused because you never explained it to them.

Next up after that you want them to pass all the papers to the front, then you are going to hand them all back to diffrent people and have them grade it. This is a bad thing because the student whose paper is being graded will worry about that more because someone could make fun of them for getting a bad grade, it also shows laziness.

Tell them to had the paper back to the person who took it, then write down all the grades on the paper without double checking the students grading, oh and make sure that you don't write down ANY awnsers on the board that way they are more likely to make mistakes and you record there grade badly.

By now the class should hate you ...

Then you tell them to take out paper and a pen, use and overhead or some pre-prepared notes that have been typed in times new roman 12 point font make sure the notes are at least 3 pages long. They have to copy all the notes down, you should not elaberate on any of the notes and just go and sit down and move the paper up every now and then so they can see it. Oh and move it up very quickly so they don't have time to copy it all down.

After a little bit of time tell them to pass their notes up to the front, you are going to grade them.

They should despise you by now ...

If anyone complains go into a long-winded lecture about how they should be gratefull for the oppertunities a good education provides and that they shouldn't complain.

Then after that tell them to read silently a minimume of 15 pages, 50 if its in a normal book, and then they are to write a 5 paragraph essay bout the main theme of the paper, there should be at least 2 quotes supporting each of there major points, and that it should be in MLA format tell them that it is homework for tommorrow and that if it isn't turned in that you will count it as a zero for a test grade.

Now you should get a body-guard.

Then for the peice de resistance, tell them all to have a nice day and not to overwork themselves.

:)

Bonnie Said:

What lesson plan(s) would you come up with when teaching someone how to sew a top?

We Answered:

If you take it a step at a time, and use an easy pattern, it shouldn't be a problem, but it depends on the student and the difficulty of a top. Personally I like the Simplicity brand of patterns. The instructions are easy to understand, which is key to a successful finished product.
