I'm sure it is... it's in most first grade social studies books. In terms of lesson plans, here's some activities that can be fun:
Sing "Old McDonald had a farm"... be sure you supply the names of the animals.
Create a power point presentation to show each farm animal you will be discussing. Include some photos of their behaviors (hogs rolling in mud) and discuss why they do it (to keep off the flies).
