Halloween Lesson Plans

Megan Said:

halloween lesson plans for 4 & 5 year olds?

We Answered:

Have the kids paint there bare feet white and place them on black construction paper. Then cut the feet out. Use a sharpie to draw eyes and a mouth. These are ghose feet.

Have them use elmers glue to make a spider web on paper and then glitter over glue.

Trace hands to make spiders.

Mummy wrap. Have kids wrap toilet paper around each other to make mummies.

Take coffee filters and stuff the middle with tissue or cotton. Wrap with a rubber band. Draw eyes and nose and you have a ghost. Let the kids decorate the coffee filters with paint or marker before you twist them.

Use geometric shapes in paper or foam to create a black cat. Round circles for head and eyes. Triangles for nose and ears. Make wiskers.

Cut out apples. Make a large bulletin board showing bobbing for apples.

Remember that when you are making lesson plans for kiddos in preschool the messier the better.

Halloween shapped Sponges dipped in water and placed on construction paper. Would look like ghostly figures dissappearing.

Decorate a witches hat. Make a cone shaped hat out of newspaper or paper and let them decorate any way they want.

Bake sugar cookies in shapes of halloween and let them decorate.

Before doing each craft find a book on the subject that they can enjoy. If possible sing halloween songs.

What do you think? Should I skip my night classes on Halloween?

We Answered:

I'd skip to go hang out with my friends. Skipping lecture one day shouldn't hurt you, especially if you go to class regularly anyway. As long as there isn't a test or quiz scheduled for that day then it shouldn't really matter.

Christian Halloween Activities?

We Answered:

Every October, my church has a Halloween Trunk or Treat evening. There are games, costumes, food, crafts.

Have the older children draw simple Christian designs on pumpkins like crosses or fish. They can take the pumpkins home and their parents can help them cut the designs out.

They can make bracelets with orange and black beads and cross beads. They can make Halloween Bible bookmarks. Perhaps they can decorate a cookie or something cut out in a cross shape with black and orange sprinkles.

Good luck and God Bless

p.s. Halloween originally was a Christian Holiday, but now has become so secular, no one knows.

An episode of Buffy for a Halloween English lesson?

We Answered:

Those are two great episodes !
Their is an other Halloween episode of Buffy but I wouldn't use that one, it's called "All the way" but it's mostly about Dawn meeting a vampire.

Other not-halloween epsiodes of Buffy would do just fine as well, I guess.
One of my favourite is "Welcome to the Hellmouth" it's the very first one. That would be perfect for your goal because of many reasons:
1) it's an introduction of the main cast (would be good for the pupils who don't know Buffy)
2) theirs a lot of vampire lore in it
3) the meaning of a slayer (etc.) is explained
4) it's incredibly funny :)
5) it has a tense beginning and ending

Have fun with the lesson. I hope the students are gonna love it.

How do I make lesson plan for halloween?

We Answered:

For what subject? Are you looking for something that's ABOUT Halloween (and even then, what academic things will you focus on? Which aspect of Halloween?). Decide that first, then it should be a lot easier.

Jason Said:

Any ideas for a good lesson plan for Halloween?

We Answered:

Well, you can talk about how dangerous is for now a days Halloween for many kids. Poison candies, sexual prededators harrasing them on the streets, etc. You can say that it is not like it used to be and that parents should be concern of what their child does in halloween outside in the streets. Shou can also talk about Salem, it is always a reference.
