Fun lesson plans for Autistic kids ages 15-20?

We Answered:

You need to have a topic to teach, for this I will do a brief outline on planning and preparing a meal. I have had a little experience in planing a lesson plan as a Workplace Trainer & Assessor and a sessional teacher.

Topic to be taught;
Plan and prepare a meal

General goal/s or aims:
Planning and prepare a meal from start to finish

What are the specific objectives:
Students to choose a meal they would like to make, making list of ingredients and equipment needed, and prepare them. (Group discussion with a recipe book)

List of Materials, equipment or ingredients:
Grocery list of ingredients needed
Stove/oven
Kitchen utensils etc

Step-By-Step Procedures:
Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipe, including the cleaning up of dishes etc.

Plan For Independent Practice:
Can this meal be a meal they can prepare with little or no assistance.

Closure/reflection of activity:
Did all student participate, was there any area's that could have been planned better, anything that worked well or did not work well, did they clean up after themselves etc.

Assessment Based On Objectives:
How is the student going to be assessed e.g did they follow directions including recipe, did they wash their hands before starting (hygiene procedures), did they follow OH & S (Occupational Health & Safety procedures), did they eat the meal and enjoy it etc.

Adaptations for Students With Learning Disabilities:
You may have had to break down the steps in the recipe further, making it more simple to follow. List of any specialized equipment needed or used etc.

Possible lead on to further subjects or courses:
This could be Food Handlers certificate etc.

Presidential inauguration lesson plans for kids?

We Answered:

First I would have them watch the inauguration and then I would divide them into teams and have them answer questions about what they just saw, with the winning team getting either candy or extra credit points.

How to begin with home-schooling for my kids ages 6 &3? Is there a lesson plan I can follow or use?

We Answered:

How fun...you are off on an incredible journey.

Our favorite program is Sonlight Curriculum. It's quite pricey but you can just buy the instructors guide and get most of the books at the library. If you don't write in the guide-they are easy to resell on Ebay.

Another amazing other option, is the series of books called ....What Your First Grader Needs to Know: Fundamentals of a Good First-Grade Education (The Core Knowledge Series) [Paperback]
Your library should carry this. This book will give you a good idea of things to cover with your 6 year old.

Best of Luck!
