Alfredo Said:

What makes a tech savvy teacher?

We Answered:

A tech savvy teacher is one who is comfortable with a wide variety of hardware and software, and integrates it into lessons frequently in the classroom. A tech savvy teacher may not have all the answers but knows how to find the answers. A tech savvy teacher encourages and promotes creativity and ingenuity using technology. Lastly, a tech savvy teacher will be one who has a variety of technology available in the classroom, either through individual personal purchases, grants, or donations because the tech savvy teacher knows that hands-on access is the only way to become fluent with technology.

Last week I visited school kids my teacher want to all student write report about that but I cant understand a

We Answered:

Well basically she/he wants you to analyse the lesson plans the teacher used, the textbooks, teaching methods, how the kids reacted, did they get the work done , what the classroom looked like and what the school and principal's office looked like and relate it to Bloom's theories.

I gather you're going into teaching as a career, you should have learned or be learning this stuff so it shouldn't be that foreign to you at this point in the year.

Teresa Said:

Do you think students in K4-5 can learn MS Access & Excel? why?

We Answered:

Yes,

I have taught adults with learning disorders to use and create databases and spreadsheets. The best way to approach the children would be to take into consideration of what interests them the most. I believe children today can utilize technology better than most adults.

You can have the kids keep a database of toys, music, favorite movies, tv shows, boys they like, or even girls they like, sporting events, video games, and so on.

The key would be putting yourself in their shoes and trying to keep them interested. Give them rewards for properly using the software.
