Lesson Plans First Grade

Katrina Said:

How could you adapt this lesson plans objectives to a first/second grade lesson plan?

We Answered:

holy crap we are in trouble, thats what they are doing in 5th grade? wow.

ok but here's what i wuld do.

each student uses a ruler. the teacher helps them with the ruler to bend the paper evenly.
the pages to be colored on all have dashed likes of different chinese dragons. use like 10 different shapes, thickneses and different facial profiles, thee are different shapes of chinese dragons.
there can also be an outline of the chinese symbol on that paper.

1) students color in the lines

2)students color in the symbol

3) then the teacher helps them with the folding.

4) students use the kid safe siccors to cut out the dragon and symbol

5) then glue the symbol on the dragon,

6)they put their names on the back

7)the teacher hangs them on the wall for a week.

an activity for first grade. lesson plan. help 10 points?

Some ideas:

1. Give each child the name of another child in the group. They must write a letter to the "friend" they are given. They can use markers, stickers, drawings to decorate the letters. Make a cardboard "mail box" and when they are finished they put their letter in an envelope with the receiver's name on it and put it in the mail box. At the end, all the children can pick up their letters. You can teach them how to write words like Dear, Hello, Sincerely, From, Love, etc and small phrases you would normally write in a letter. Write these words on cue cards so the children can copy them. This activity also encourages social skills!!

2. Songs!! Children love songs!! Make something up, where the children have to either repeat or fill in the blanks. If you can play an instrument, bring it! The children will be so focused.

3. Base an activity around a book. There is a great book called Heckedy Peg, about children each named a different day of the week. Kids LOVE this book. You can read it to them and then sing a song about the different days of the week. Sometimes I sing with the kids a song I made up to the tune of "My Bonnie" except instead of singing "bring back bring back bring back my bonnie to meee to meee" I sing "monday monday the first day of the weeeeeek, monday monday the first day of the weeeeek." and then sing something silly about monday or ask a question about monday and then repeat it for each day. Believe it or not a lot of kids still don't know all the names and order. Then, depending on the amount of children in your group, you can give each child a day of the week to write out on a card or piece of paper. They can use markers to decorate. Then make a decorative calendar together. If there are more children, someone can do the year, someone else can write out the month. Then on a big board, the children must put everything in order!

GOOD LUCK! hope this helps

what is a good first grade lesson plan on community?

We Answered:

Tell them about the job that the police and fireman do, find books that detail a fire house and what goes on. Talk to them about the job that the police do don't leave it to what they learn from the news or the streets. IF you live in a big city that can be bad. Talk to them about how people in hospitals help save lives, how important it is for people to volunteer in their areas. You only have to think about what goes on around you to engage the children in what goes on around them.

Wheel of words. The child spins the wheel, and whatever word he or she lands on, they will make up a sentence using that word. We had a little wheel, actually two circles. The under circle had words on it, the top circle has a rectangle cut out on it, just large enough to show one word. You will put the two circ;es together loosely with a brad. Make the hole that you put the brad through just a little larger than the brad so the cirlcle spins easily, and make the lower circle larger than the top one so that it is easy for the child to turn. It is fun. Another fun game is word bingo. It makes learning words fun for the children.

I am writing my first lesson plans..how do I adjust the difficulty for grade level?

We Answered:

Well, try to pretend you the child. Make sure they already know everything they will need to know before you assign the report.
In your first year or two, you will have be a little lenient with your plans. You will have a time of trail and error. Some ideas you have wont be as great as others the first time you try it.
Have your basic assignment, and keep the things your worried that they wont be able to accomplish, in an on the fence state.
If they are doing really well, dont change your plans
If they arent catching on as quickly as expented, you can make changes without anything being really last minute.

Add: Then your going to have to act like a real teacher and either drop by thier class for a quick recap before you assign anything, or talk to thier previous teacher.
