First: I think you mean "embouchure"...not "ambusher."

Now, apart from radical oral surgury, there's not much that can be done to fix a drastic underbite. The good news is that many fine players have a "less than ideal" dental alignment. You can learn to play at an extremely high level despite an underbite. In my opinion, your dedication, attitude, and musical aptitude are all more important in the long run than whether or not your chompers look like they belong in the movies!

As for the Air Force bands: it sounds like you know what you want. You should realize that a great many other trombone players would also like a full-time job playing music as well, though. You'll face some stiff competition. Most of them have degrees in music, years of study, real-world playing experience, and a ton of talent. VERY few of them came to the Air Force straight out of high school.

As I'm sure you know, the first stage of any Air Force audition is to submit a recording of yourself for consideration. You can count on having some honest feedback from the audition panel, so be prepared for constructive criticism. They only invite the best to audition in person. If your recording has some deficiencies, they'll most likely tell you what areas you would benefit from improving in. There's no harm in trying!
