Phonics Lesson Plan

Henry Said:

Should I teach Kindergarten or 1st Grade? (Real Situation)?

We Answered:

Both have plus and minus points...but given a choice, I would like teaching kinder kids. That would be fun. The innocence of kids is at times amusing and touching. They are more fun to be with. Surprisingly, kids grow up so fast in a year, and by the time they reach the 1st grade, some of the innocence is lost. But we have to have more patience and be more agile/physically active while handling kinder kids. If you like very little people, kinder is the best choice.

Claudia Said:

Can somebody explain what the tutor is asking for? I'm confused!?

We Answered:

It does not state anywhere that they have learnt 4 double letter sounds, but it does not state that they haven't either. You should never assume that students haven't learnt something; many bad lessons occur when students already know much of what the teacher wants to teach them. The only thing you can assume is that the students have not learnt (ai, ay, ir, oa). Notice that the aim is not to introduce double letter sounds but to introduce "new" double letter sounds.
