Preschool Themes And Lesson Plans

Need a preschool lesson plan/activity for:?

I usually break my "fall" into the various parts of fall. Fall Leaves are a biggie! And there is LOTS of ideas on the internet if you search fall leaves and preschool.

I like to use the cloth leaves with the parachute. (Movement)

Place a large green/brown blanket over top of a large seat bean bag. Use lots of cloth leaves. Put some leaves on the blanket and some on the floor. Have childrens' plastic rakes and encourage them to rake the leaves and "jump" in them. :-) "Erica's raking the leaves, Erica's raking the leaves. Hi-Ho the Derry-o, Erica's raking the leaves."

Blocks: add brown strips to some of the blocks and fall colored treetops to others. They can create their own "forest" of fall colored trees. An added bonus is vocabulary- tall, short, colors, etc and math---measuring the trees...this tree is so many blocks tall.

Health---Fall time is Thanksgiving time for us and we talk about the food pyramid, health/not healthy foods etc. You could have a tasting lesson with Fall veggies and fruits. Apples are a theme that's often used in our area during fall. We talk about similarities and differences, colors, what can be made out of apples etc.

Also, kids are starting to get colds so we do a lesson on "catching our sneeze" and washing hands well to help keep the germs away.

Good luck!

Is this an appropriate lesson plan for Preschool 4 & 5 year olds?

We Answered:

This seems nice.

Instead of asking them to explain the emotion they have chosen, quite difficult for a child this age, you could ask them to tell you one thing that makes them sad, happy, scared etc.

Also the emotions silly, serious and surprised might be a little too complex for this age. I would just stick with happy, sad, scared and excited. You could add tired as well, but the first four are good enough.

There will be some children that won't be able to pick out the corresponding number so you could limit the numbers given, for example if there are 6 letters, place the the numbers 5, 6 and 7 on the table and ask them to pick out the correct number to give them a better chance of getting it right. They might not be used to seeing numbers past 10 or 12.

How are they going to label the picture? Are they going to select the word and stick it to the paper plate? Some of them will have a go at doing some of the letters of the word but they will need to see the word.

Good luck

What would be a good Art activity for preschool children, having to do with Tree Houses?

We Answered:

you could use popsicle sticks and have them make their own tree houses. You could also have them tell you about their "Dream tree house" and they could draw a picture of it while you write on the picture what they tell you about their tree house.

I need to teach a preschool lesson plan for 3.5 year olds and 4 year olds...?

We Answered:

That is a very cute idea - are they focusing on the soft sound of G though? We always focus on the hard sound as in goat but I love the idea of hearts for spots. you could even glue on conversation hearts for the spots if you don't have any food allergies.
Good luck! Remember glue starts with G too!
