You are working at the higher levels of Bloom's taxonomy so this is good, but the question is ... "have the students been exposed to such exercises previously?"There are too many things in the lesson ... the idea of retelling the story; the introduction of the "best friend"; and the character lesson and it is possible these many activities might cause some problems.
It might be more to your advantage to make the lesson into two parts ...
Part 1: Read the story and do the exercise
Part 2: Discuss what was learned from the story and as the end of this exercise introduce the best friend and the character lesson.
Do not forget the attention span of your students, the class size, and they need for supervision when working at Bloom's higher levels ....

You're going to be healing for at least 6 months post-op. Have the surgery as soon as possible. Wear a knee brace when you're not doing physical therapy (hopefully your Dr's agree that PT is very important). You're not going to play this season. That's for sure. Sorry to hear it. ask her doctor. sometimes a child will be big but healthy and since your daughter is getting excersise. and for the closet eating if she knows you have a problem with her weight she will eat her feelings ( i know i did) so be gentle. set firm rules and do things with her that isn't making her feel self concious about her weight. try playing a board game or going shopping at the mall.
