What are activities I can do for my sunday school lesson?!?

Well you can play some games, that the students might enjoy. tell them stories and take them into an imaginative word.

Hector Said:

I'm planning an under 5s Sunday School lesson on Joy (Fruit of the Spirit), looking for craft/activity ideas.

We Answered:

Play jump for joy, call out words and when the children think the word, makes them feel joyful, they jump. Good starting activity, befroe they talk about the things that make them feel joyful, as this is a word many under fives may be unfamiliar with, so you will want to define it for them in a meaningful way.
You could then ask them to draw pictures of a moment they felt joy, for example on their birthday, at a wedding, the birth of a sibling,a holiday, etc:

I need to teach sunday school on the Fruits of the spirit please help with good lesson plans on the net?

We Answered:

Zondervan has a "Fruit of the Spirit" Bible study ebook you can get free...

Start at http://www.zondervan.com/Cultures/en-US/…

Note the coupon code in the right column.

Click one of the eZondervan links. Then select "Bible Study Guide" from the left side. The top entry in that list is "Fruit of the Spirit Bible Studies, 8 volumes in one $24.99" The coupon code gives you $25 in free merchandise download, so you just select "Order Download" and go through setting up an ID and download the program. What you'll get is a self-extract installer for Zondervan's Pradis program and the book you selected. Expect the download to be about 30 Meg, so don't try it on dial-up.

Check back here in a few minutes. I have not read the book, but will give it a quick read and comment on it.

... The "book" is a series of short units, with several on each "element" of the Fruit (singular) of the Spirit. It seems well laid out and thought out for someone who is not very experienced in leading Bible studies. It is geared for a DISCUSSION oriented class with several QUESTIONS in each section... Statements do not generate discussion, questions do.

My suggestion would be to (subject to your time constraints) select a few "chapters" from each section and develop those into stand-alone classes on each element of Fruit of the Spirit. If discussion goes long, you can use multiple session times on a single component, but I wouldn't try to combine 2 into any single session.

Ideas for a Sunday school lesson on Joshua Chapter 1?

We Answered:

I teach fifth grade Sunday School myself, in Nashville, TN. Maybe you could play a game in which you do something and then have then repeat after you, like clap a rhythm and have them clap it back to you, getting progressively more difficult. Then, you could have a student take over for you as the leader and see how hard it is to get everyone to do what you want them to do.

I love it when the people say "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you." Given how well the Hebrews had obeyed Moses (not very) I don't think I would have wanted to hear that at all, if I were in Joshua's shoes!

I think that I might want to stress to kids this age that their youth shouldn't be a reason for them to shrink from living a Christian life, and that God can work in them just as He works in those up to whom they look. "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you."

I hope this helps.

Sunday school?

We Answered:

That's a great topic for kids in that age range...........

As far as relating it to someone else for them to understand:
Maybe you could tell a parable of your own.

Make something up about a person who strayed from the faith for a time.........but then got back on the right path.
You could show them that when you're truly saved, Christ will never let you get away for good.

He always draws us back to Him..........even when we try to get away.
