Charlotte Said:
What should I choose as my future career? We Answered:
You have a lot of interests...I would say freelance. I live in New York City and I know some art teachers who work for the various museums in the area, teaching a few classes per week and getting $100 per session. This allows you to be more flexible to pursue your other interests.
If you can perform music to some degree, consider working evenings as a waitress or bartender in a piano bar. These bars will pay you to work there as staff, but you'd get to sing and perform anywhere from 25%-50% of the time. Not too shabby considering that it's "work" in the evening.
Beyond that, you can hand out business cards to people and let them know that you're a "Fashion/Style Consultant". A lot of individuals in busy cities will pay to have someone help them shop and fill out an entire wardrobe. When you're starting out, you can charge $12-$15 an hour and after you've built a portfolio of photos from your clients you can probably charge $30-$40 per hour if you're good. If you can schedule two or three of these every week, there's another good way to supplement a happy, freelancing career.
If you're still bored, start a local volunteer group that goes around the neighborhood educating people about the easiest/most convenient way to be green. You won't make money from this, but you're doing something of great value.
Good luck!
