Firs thing is it doesn't matter if you don't play in middle school, as long as you put your mind into the sport and want to do the sport for a living you can do anything you want with that sport, your mind can do amazing things.You just have to believe in your self so Yes it will be good but it all depends more in highschool. If you don't make the basketball team in Middle school at all, dont give up still practice daily, do drills, play with friends, read about basketabll watch basketball, WNBA would be better for you since it is more a girl sport. Do not worry, sit down with your mom and tell her you want to play basketball because you enjoy it and if you do, you might want to even go pro with basketball. Yelling it to your mom won't work but a serious sit down talk with her might make her think. Tell her you don't like band because of this or that, think of a good reason and your mom will understand. Basketball isn't a guy sport, it is a sport for everyone equally, anyone can play basketball no matter what, if it was a guy sport there would be no Girls Basketball team, no College ball girls team and no WNBA, so if they can do it you can do it. If you do join the team you will get the experience of playing against other schools, playing with teammates and having more confidence about your self once you join the highschool team.

You don't need to get in a team to show your mom that you can play, you can play on your own and show her, take her to the park and show her what you can do.

I have taught both middle and high school. Middle school is very important because how you do in middle school will more than likely play a role in how you do at the high school level. Get involved in middle school. Join some clubs, pay attention, and hang out with the right people. If you are interested in going to college one day, don't think that high school is the only time grades will count. The earlier you start thinking about getting good grades, the better. I hope this advice helps you.
