Good start. Now craft it. Spend two hours reading a published work that is in this genre. Notice the crispness of the text. The polish. This work needs polish. Hone it tight. Make it crisp. Make every word count. Don't wake me in the middle of the night with the thought this was more drama than another school. That is not the thought you would have right then. Don't run down the stairs and think about getting in shape. That is not what you would think then. And it does not lend anything to the reader's sense of engagement. Take what you have. Such good stuff. And craft it into something special. You are about halfway there. And you can get there. Keep going.

I live right next to Barrington. It's a nice town, it is an upper-class town. The schools are good; there are public schools and private (Catholic) schools like St. Annes elementary school.

Middle schools are called Station and Prairie (there are 2 for the town). Barrington High School is a good public high school. There is also St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL and Carmel High School in Mundelein, IL if your sister is looking into private high schools. I would say both are a good 30 minute drive from Barrington. For St. Viator, you can take the train from the Barrington station to the Arlington Heights station and a shuttle will transport you to school.
