I go there, so I can tell you all about it. It's a lottery system, so you have to put your name in and then they have a drawing in January or so for the incoming 6th graders. They have already selected the 6th graders for next year.

If you want to come in but you aren't in the lottery and you aren't coming into 6th grade, then you have to contact the main office. They will give you a form.

It's true, you have an advantage if you live far away and apply, because it contributes to the "diversity" of the school.

I did in 1969. Wow I'm old! Except back then it was Mission Junior High School. I don't live there any more. I also went to Central Elementary School. Is that still there?

The whole bellevue school district will be closed not just chinook. Since I've checked..schools are closed until further notice. The teachers want better contracts and better compensation(i think that's how you spell it). From what i've been watching on the news, teachers wants more control over the curriculum and since bellevue is a expensive place to live..they want their salary to match up to the cost of living. Hope this helps.
