make sure you know how to juke someone out.
make sure you can stop quickly.
and make sure you can run long distances without stopping.

*don't try too hard when throwing because it will totally throw you off.

thats how it was for my tryouts but it may be different for the guys (i was on the girls team at my school)

I'm also on one of my church's worship teams, so here's some stuff that might help:

You'd be pretty set with a volume pedal, but you'll also need a converter that you plug the snake from the volume pedal into, which changes from a guitar plug to a mic plug, which goes into the PA system.

If you're only playing rhythm you won't need any effects. If your church's soundboard (which you should get plugged into if you're going through PA) has effects like reverb, you could TRY that, but rhythm should really just stay normal. Make sure your volume and tone are even, though.

If you're playing lead, and you want some good effects, look into the Line 6 Floor POD Plus. It's a great pedal board, and has kickbox effects. Also if you're playing electric, you'll have to plug your guitar into your (if you use one) pedal board or any kickboxes you have, then into your amp, and from your amp into your PA system. Bass needs to do that as well.

In case you don't know already, a snake is just simply a short guitar cord. You can use standard guitar cords if you'd like, but there'll be a lot of cord barf all over the stage.

Just don't go too crazy with effects. Remember it's about playing music to Jesus, that leads the congregation into worship, and not just putting on a show. Bring honor to God, and not yourself.

assigning seats is BS!!! those teachers are sooooooooo stupid!!!! if i was your little brother i would calmly pull one of them aside and ask them if they'd reconsider changing the rules. i understand what they're trying to do, but during lunch, people need to be with their friends. if you can't talk to them during class, then how are you going to stay close with them? those teachers are RETARDED!!! jeez those psycos. srry, it's gonna take me a while to get ovr this lol
