If you really want to track your old buddies down, you can do the following:

1. look their names up in the yellow pages. Lots of people stay in the same area as they used to when they were kids.
2. if that doesnt work, go take a visit to your parents. most schools give you student directories that list where all the students live, what their phone numbers and and stuff like that. You can call up your friends' old house, and their parents might still remember you.

Really just don't panic about going to a new school. All schools are the same so just relax. Over thinking things will make you trip, stumble over words, and think before you talk cause trust me, it's not bright to say something completely uncalled for in your English class while like switching up letters with the phrase "Fun Sucker" >_>;;
