You don't have to drink or be mean to be popular. Those are usually the people that irritate everyone. If you want to be popular, you have to be nice and be an outgoing and overall friendly person. If you want to know how to talk to people on the first day, just find someone to talk to, compliment something about them, and start a conversation. Or if you're funny, you can crack a few jokes as well. And I'd give it a few days before you try to be in the "IN" crowd, because sometimes you'll end up with the wrong "IN" crowd and then it will be very hard to get out. To be honest, I think there's a difference between the "IN" crowd and "Popular" crowd. Popular people are nice, social, and smart. The "IN" crowd are the people that act like they run the school and are usually the "Queen Bees" that you hear about.

Im a cheerleader too but its ATON of hard work
And be sure to benpopular with the guys too
And dont get bad grades cuz that just SUCKS

Ok, i would say just be yourself or its not worth it but you don't want that soo...

1. join a sport, you'll meet a lot of people and there usually are a lot of populars in sports.
2. Be nice or sweet. Some one people want to be around.
3. You seem to have the look down, you might want to wear a little bit of makeup if your allowed. I remember the popular girls started wearing makeup in fricken 6th grade.
4. Get good grades, its doesn't make you seem nerdy it makes you seem smart.
5. Have a sense of humor, people like people that can take a joke and make jokes.

its really simple!

-hang around more people, dont be afraid to socialize with others. get involved with them and be outgoing. but dont try too hard.

-you can make a change to yourself. a change that will improve your looks in a good way. but dont overdo it

-listen to others more thanu talk. give others a chance to talk. people hate it when you do all the talking.

-be friends with the most popular group at school. but dont be too obvious and make sure that u dont leave out your old friends or that can really hurt them

-be empathetic. as in try to understand or relate to what others are feeling.

-be confident and take care of urself always.

-dont spread any rumors about others people. this will make people hate you and will give you a bad reputation.

-dress nicely when ur in public. make sure it is right for the occasion and dont overdo it. keep it simple but nice.

-try for a new hairstyle and try on some makeup. dont put on too much makeup on ur face. it can ruin ur face with all the chemicals.

-get to know the guys. they love it when a girl comes up to them and starts a conversation. put a little flirt in it, but not too much. this will keep the conversation fun and interesting.

-make sure that u know wat ur body language is telling other people. if ur crossing ur arms, then it means "dont bug me". and when u slouch, its like ur saying "i feel that im not important." always smile and keep a good posture.

-study hard and keep ur good values and morals. u dont have to be mean and snobby to be popular.

-be nice and admit ur flaws. when u make a mistake, just laugh it off. nobody's perfect anyway.

-be urself and dont try to be sumone else just for others to like u.
