Your thesis statement is an opinion, so you should support it with your reason. Others may disagree with you and say some other document.
You don't have to put the author of the document in your thesis. You can put it elsewhere in your paper to support your point.

For generally any school project, you should have three main reasons to back up your statement and then have sub-reasons to back them up.So, your statement is: Girls and boys should have separate PE classes.
Your three main reasons could be:
1. Boys are overly aggressive, physically and emotionally
a. Girls get injured
b. Girls get taunted and put down - lowers self esteem
etc... you get the idea
2. Team work is not cohesive when there is a "battle of the sexes"
a. When choosing teams, boys will choose the strongest fastest boys and leave out the girls
b. Even when teams are equally chosen (boys/girls), boys strategize amongst themselves and leave girls out
3. Adolescent girls are not independent when adolescent boys surround them
a. Adolescent girls are more focused on attracting a boy than doing their best at a sport
b. Adolescent boys tease adolescent girls about their sexual development
Add more to each argument, or come up with your own main arguments, and you should have a very strong project! Good luck :)
