Katie Said:

how can I find nutritional facts on school lunches?

We Answered:

ask your school lunchroom manager. (If you are in the USA) they should have all the menus, portion sizes, and calorie contents readily available. You may need to let them copy it and pick up the copy the next day....

Mitchell Said:

I'm a teacher moving to the miami dade area. Does anyone know which neighborhoods are safest to live in?

We Answered:

I'm not sure about the schools, since I moved to the area after graduating and I have no kids. But I can tell you some safe neighborhoods.

I'm don't know where your school is at, but the Miami Dade area is large and you will want to be sure to live near the school. Traffic can be really bad, and what would normally be a half hour drive can easily become an hour and a half during rush hour.

If you want to live near the beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles Beach, and Key Biscayne are all nice, safe areas. I don't know how much you can afford on a teacher's salary, but of those areas that I listed, Sunny Isles Beach would be the least expensive. If you want to live a little further from the beach, Aventura is a very safe area.

If you will be working in the northern part of dade county, I would consider living in south Broward county. Most of Broward county is very safe and also less expensive than Miami-Dade County.

Which School?

We Answered:

Since you passed and got accepted, take advantage of learning more than you can compared to the other school. Who knows if one day or a lifetime it will come handy. The more you know, the more well rounded person you'll be.

Randy Said:

How are schools in Broward County and Miami Dade?

We Answered:

Yes, the Miami answers are irrelevant, and you sure as don't want to commute to Miami.

Broward is a big place. It makes little sense for you to commute all the way from the West side to the East to work, so where you live will affect where it's sane to work.

The county is broken up into lots of Cities. Some have lots of growth and overcrowded schools, some are old, some are new.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT PART OF THE COUNTY YOU END UP LIVING IN.

The post about income is right, to an extent. More income in that city then generally better schools. This is not true for the zone by the beach where the rich white parents send their kids to private schools, so the local schools are all the rest.

School demographics can tell you quite a bit too. You should be able to get them from the school board. Talk to real estates agents in your new town. You may not want to purchase a house but they often know the gossip about the quality of the local schools.

In the end, it comes down to is the school overcrowded? Is the racial balance reasonable? Who the heck will be your department head and principle.

Hilda Said:

Which school should i go 2?

We Answered:

It sounds like the IBO school would be a better choice. More variety and it sounds like it teaches way more. So you'd have better classes which would teach you useful things. Learning other languages is always a great thing to do. Broaden your horizons :)

Go for the advanced school.
