We had a Kids affected by War in the SouthEast assembly and about half the people were crying. It was kinda depressing and the music they played in the slideshow was sad. It was like they played all of the sad songs all in one.

Once this author came to school and told us a ghost story. It sounds corny, but it was really good.
Also: police. They bring their dogs, and the demonstrations on how they arrest someone, find drugs, or catch a criminal are awesome.
Also, anyone with a cool job who can tell you about it or give a demonstration. (Ex: astronauts, senators/mayors/other political figures, detective, forensic specialist, anything involved with with crime like SWAT, etc.)

To speak at a school, you need the permission of the school system. They will want to know your credentials as being qualified to speak to their students on your topic. Instead of starting out that way, you might instead try volunteering at a local program that helps keeps kids off the streets - like the YMCA, or recreation department.
