Just started homeschooling for high school and it is THE most stressful situation. Please help!?We Answered:
Hi Tabby,Take a deep breath, and try to relax. I know it seems overwhelming, but taking one small step at a time can help you get on course.
First: set up a specific place in your home to work that feels comfortable to you with books, pencils, computer, etc.
Second: Choose a specfic time or times during the day that you assign to your work. Perhaps 9:00 AM to noon, and then again from 1:00 PM to 3 PM. More if you need it.
Third: Look carefully at each text to see what you feel you can do on your own, and what you need help in. Perhaps, English seems accessible, at least reading, but you may feel that you need help with grammar. Write down your thoughts about each subject.
Fourth: Meet with your parents with a list of the areas that you need help in. Perhaps there is a friend of the family who can help you with math or science and would be willing to meet with you a couple of times a week. Or, your parents may be able to find a local college student who they could employ to tutor you a difficult subject.
Fifth: Come up with a schedule for yourself and post it in your study area. Use planner pages. From when to when will you work on English? Math? History?
Keep your courage up. You sound like a very intelligent young woman. I am an English teacher who has first taught and then tutored students for twenty years. I wish you the best!

I'm pretty much a failure now?We Answered:
First off you really need to relax. Just breathe in and breathe out. Maybe an activity to blow off steam would be a good idea. Now, as far as school. If you are transferring from a private school into a public school you need to sit down with a counselor/administrator before you make the switch. I'm 17 and attend a public school. Those who come from private schools usually do brilliantly in public school because it is generally easier.
It's not a definite that you'll have to repeat a grade. You may be able to test into the eleventh grade. Again, just talk to someone from the school you'll be switching into.
Keep your head up and things will fall into place.
As far as your parents,.... I mean wow. There is clearly some animosity present there. You guys need to sit down and talk. At least they care about you enough to take an interest. Mine certainly don't.
Good luck!

Homeschooling Question.... please help?We Answered:
I've always struggled with friends for some reason or another. All of my friends live at least 20 minutes away but I talk to them through msn, email, and calling them on the phone. I've been to a public school, a private school, and I've been home schooled. I've been going through the same thing decided whether or not to go back to school for grade 12 in the fall. Maybe you should both make a list of pros and cons of homeschooling vs. school. Sit down with her and really talk about it. Why does she want to go to school? What does she think will be better or different at school? As for her brother, I know I would be uncomfortable if I were in her place. He's 8 so I think he's old enough to understand he needs to wear clothes.

Where can I find mocrosoft windows toolbars icons? I am a teacher and would like to include them in my instruWe Answered:
Google image search will give you many of them. The actual image is embedded in a .dll or .exe in windows, and it's hard to extract.
