They do not try to fail most of the test takers. This is not the Bar Exam.

If you know your material, you only need to take it once. Those who are not cut out for Math do not take the exam, and so most pass on the first try.

In California, the multiple subject Praxis had to be passed for elementary school teachers and special ed. teachers-all levels, but preschool was exempt. The math was high school level (Geometry, Algebra, etc.).

The single subject Praxis was required for teachers who taught middle school and High School math.

Now California uses the CSET. Similar content, but you can take different subject areas individually 'til you've passed them all.

When I took the test in March 2009, there was no sheet. I thought that there would be, because in the test prep books, they give you one, but there was not one on the test. The only thing I didn't study that I regret now is formulas! Memorize all the simple formulas like volume for a cylinder, circumference of objects, etc.
