Middle School School Supplies

Willie Said:

can you give me the school supplies list to nowlin middle school?

We Answered:

I looked on your school's web site, but I don't see that information there. But...

You might be able to go to your local Walmart and get your school's supply list there. But...

Since your mom or dad can get your supplies tax-free August 1-3, you might want to wait a little closer to that time to worry about your supply list. Your school will most likely mail you a list by then.

If you really need to get some supplies sooner than that, here's the list of basic supplies from a Sample Middle School Back to School List:

* No. 2 pencils

* Colored pencils

* Pencil sharpener (hand held with a top to collect shavings)

* Large eraser

* Ballpoint pens

* Highlighters

* Spiral bound or composition notebooks

* Loose-leaf notebook paper (Some middle schools ask that students use the college-ruled variety.)

* A ruler with English and metric measurements

* Several 3-ring binders (some teachers will require a binder to be used exclusively for their class)

* 3-hole punch

* Pencil case to fit into binder

* Binder dividers

* Folders to fit into binders

* A small planner to record assignments (usually these are supplied by your school)

* A sturdy, supportive backpack

Good luck!

What are some middle school 7th grade school supplies?

We Answered:

This is a great question! *high five* :) I'm going into 8th grade. Here's a list of some things I had/ wish I had throughout the year:

in locker (our lockers had built in locks, but if yours don't you'll need to get one, our school also provided agendas, you might need to get one of those to record your homework):

mirror

locker shelves

mini hairbrush

body spray/perfume

small lotion

extra hoodie or sweater that can go with anything in case you get cold

water bottles, (i kept a six pack of vitamin water in the bottom of my locker for after school activities. vitamin water was popular at my school because that's what was in our vending machines. if i didn't finish a drink i kept it in my locker or backpack for the next day. I also walked home sometimes and i got thirsty so i kept one in my backpack/tote

snacks (i kept an entire box of cereal bars with my vitamin water)

you should keep a little wristlet or purse (like PurpleKangaroo mentioned) keep these items in there (or you could put these in your pencil case:

gum/mints

toothbrush/toothpaste (if your running late in the morning)

extra makeup (for touch-ups if you wear make up. this is all personal.)

oil absorbing sheets

chap stic/soft lips/lip smackers (soft lips was popular at my school, BE VERY CAREFUL WITH LIP SMACKERS! :) if your bored during class or something and your mindlessly applying lip smackers brand chap stick you might leave a very unflattering ring of... crap around your mouth... lol)

lip gloss (sheer, if you have colored, it can look tacky, it can also get all over your stuff [clothes, face, hands, binders, etc] and will make a huge sticky mess, have you ever notices lip gloss sticks on everything besides your lips?? hahaha btw, my favorite lip glosses are the ones sold at bath and body works, the fruity ones are flirty but i LOVE the minty ones (C.O. Bigelow) for after lunch to freshen your breath)

pads/tampons (embarrassing, ik, lol)

band aids/neosporin lol dorky, ik

nail file, nail clippers

clear nail polish for runs in leggings or chipped nail poish, DO NOT USE THIS DURING CLASS

gym locker (if you have one, if not, keep *ed items in the tops of bottom of your locker):

gym clothes (duh :) you might get a list of stuff to keep in there on your first day of P.E.)

old sneakers to permanently keep in your locker so you don't have to worry about wearing sneakers on gym days ;) you can wear cute shoes everyday!! (don't go out and buy a pair, just use your old sneakers from last year, unless they're too small... then you might have to buy a new pair... :( just get a cheap pair, it doesn't matter. just as long as they are REAL sneakers. not slip ons or anything)

body spray/perfume*

DEODERANT!!! put it on before AND after gym!!!!!!!!!!!!*

an extra pair of jeans in case you get busted for wearing too-short shorts or skirts ;) or in case of a wardrobe malfunction... (that time of month... haha)*

an exrta t-shirt in case or a wardrobe malfunction (spilling a drink, lip gloss :))*

TIPS/NOTES:

i switched backpacks/totes often, if you do this make sure you put EVERYTHING back into your new bag.

keep a pencil case with you! its great to be prepared, and you might need to lend your friend a pencil or pen ;)

keep sharpies in your pencil case one black and one in your fav color :) so you can sign your friends binders, yearbooks, etc

EDIT:
hair ties!!!! i always keep one on my wrist, a few in my locker, one in my pencil case, and one in my wristlet :)

hair clips

EDIT: sports wrap (the foamy stuff) is good to keep in your (gym) locker because a lot of times you can't wear hair clips during sports and you can use it as a hair tie or a headband. plus, they come in all different colors so you can get it in your favorite color or school colors. (congrats! you can finally play sports at school)

email me for advice

have fun in 7th grade!

lots of love,
Rachel <3

Middle School?

We Answered:

whatever you do, just don't try too hard..... lol
be more focused on what you're actually going to learn than trying to fit in
give it time, and you will. everyone struggles with this problem.

organizing is different for everyone
I always have a binder for each major subject (math, science, english, and history) and others if they require it.
also, store all of your homework in one folder so it isn't too spread out
having a daily planner helps you keep track of things so they aren't forgotten

i thought middle school was kind of a drag, to be honest.
the best part was getting older and being able to do more stuff with friends and extracurricular activities (i am a band nerd)
edit: actually, the very best part about this time period was learning about myself
i'm one of those people with crazy imaginations that like to think about life when we're supposed to be sleeping
it sounds weird and geeky, but it feels really good

just wait for the first day of for some kind of information and they should tell you what gym clothes to buy

hope that helps!
