Where can I find an Earth Science syllabus geared toward middle school children?

We Answered:

The link below has a state's scope and sequences for science. You can check science in grades 6,7, and 8 for ideas about geology.

How To Survive Middle School?

We Answered:

Well, I can finally answer this question because I am nearly done with middle school! I will be done with eighth grade next week, woo!

But anyway, middle school isn't that bad once you get the hang of things. There are definitely more serious tests, projects, and homework assignments than in elementary school, and A LOT more drama. So if you thought that fight you got in over a guy was bad, wait until you hear some of the things that happen in middle school. (not trying to scare you, it's true and I've experienced it)

Hmmm, what else? In middle school, you begin to find out who your real friends and who the people are that need to stay out of your life. There are a lot of things involving cliques, but I'm sure you already knew that.

And finally, to sum things up, I will give you do's and dont's:

DO:
-Make friends with people who like you for you and don't cause drama.
-Join a club, sport, or any extracurricular activity because it will help you make friends and prepare you for high school.
-Study for tests and turn in your homework. It depends on your teacher, but some of them can be really strict.
-Be yourself

DON'T:
-Be a poser and try to fit in with the "cool" people. It will just cause more drama.
-Miss out on all the things your school offers. You could find your passion!
-Slack off on your work. You will really struggle in high school if you develop these habits early on.

Sorry for writing so much, I just had some extra time on my hands. Hope this helps!

What are some good ways to teach velocity to middle school students?

We Answered:

Have them throw balls. Throw them hard and they are moving at a greater velocity. Have them throw them softly and they move at a lower velocity.
