Middle School Teacher Salary
Phyllis Said:
What is the average salary for a Middle School substitute teacher? We Answered:
My school district in AR pays between 55 to 80 dollars a day. The 80 dollars is for long term subs, which means you have to have a college degree, which means if you sub every day (which is unlikely) you could earn between 10 to 15 thousand. No benefits.Minnie Said:

What's the average annual salary for middle and high school teahers in Ontario,Canada? We Answered:
The salary will start around 35000 to 40000 for the first year depending upon qualifications and will increase yearly to a maximum of 70,000 to 80,000 a year. It will take any where from 12 to 14 years to reach the maximum.Teachers who are department heads may make another 3000 to 4000 for the added responsibility.
Also there is a health/dental package that is very generous.
If you teach in the far north, there may be additional money -- isolation pay.
These salaries apply generally to both middle school and secondary school,
Teachers are expected to run extra curricular activities without extra pay.
Differences in salary and benefits package will occur from Board (of Education) to Board.
The numbers quoted are in Canadian dollars.

What's the demand/salary for middle-school history teacher in Canada? We Answered:
Teaching in the US isn't hard to get into, but a history major and psychology major at middle school level could certainly be difficult. You need certification for middle school age group and t hat is across the curriculum a bit. You can begin as a substitute if you can't find a position or may find a job with temporary certification if they don't find a certfied teacher.I don't know how that works in Canada but doubt it works much different.
As to salary, in the US, those vary from district to district and often are negotiated by the teacher union or association in public schools and are just set by private schools. Different states vary greatly.
Unless Canada has one school system, which I doubt, then you are probably looking at the same thing, it may depend on the various districts and also within each province. Some of the funding and salary depends on where the funds come from. If it is property taxes, and those are district or provinence wide, then that has a lot of determination of the salary. In private schools it is what the market will bear or what they can get by with paying and keep staff.
the most in demand in the US are math and science teachers as they may often look for masters degrees in those areas (not in other areas) to begin and those with math or science degrees can find better paying and less stressful jobs elsewhere. Yet there are great benefits, and the pay is based on the number of days you work. the money in the summer is actually earned in the school year and rather than taking the pay then, it is doled out over the summer as some people don't save it. This cuts back on confusion about health insurance as well as they are full-time employees though they may only work 9 months.
In the US you are not tenured until you complete at least 3 years in the district out of the last 5 years and often have a masters degree. I don't know the rules in Canada and I've forgotten some in the 5 years or so I've retired as a labor relations rep for teachers in my former state.
But the contract is not considered a temporary one, but it can be renewed or nonrenewed until a teacher gets tenure. Can be more readily laid off until reaches tenure too. In private school don't necessarily ever reach tenure status. Protections are greater where there is a union or association. You can ask at any public scool district for a salary schedule and a copy of any negoitated agreement with teachers by paying the costs of copying. Have no rights to receive from a private school (charters are public) as they are not a government entity requiring disclosure. I don't know the Canadian right to public documents.
Good luck.

How much is a middle school teacher's salary? We Answered:
not much, lolit depends on where you live, on the cost of living compared to the cost of living somewhere else and all that good stuff
i asked a high school teacher like 2 years ago because at the time i was considering becoming a teacher, he said its like $30,000 a year. and then of course you never actually get that much because of taxes and all that good stuff....
Sam Said:
How to become a Pre-k/Kindergarten/elementary/middle… school teacher/professor?We Answered:
You sound like progressing through the teaching ranks like graduating school. That's not the way it works. All levels use different skills. You should probably decide at which level you want to teach and the subject at which you excel. There is also public vs. private schools and those salaries vary drastically. Regions vary greatly through the US since we are such a large country so you should narrow your region down also.
There are education boards that govern the education systems throughout regions in the US so you then have to query those governing boards (usually a website) to find out their standards and certifications.
