Middle School Technology Curriculum
Phyllis Said:
What are the subjects middle and high schoolers study in Japan? We Answered:
At junior high school their five core subjects are:Japanese, English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Besides these they also do Music, Physical Education, Home Economics, and Art.
It is difficult for me to comment on the curriculum because I can't read Japanese that well. The thing that I think is the most advanced is that the student have full colour textbooks for all their subjects. I love that the students can make all their note in their books. It's great for filling in translations when they are studying English. In South Africa we only had black and white textbooks that we borrowed for a year and then returned to the school. I'm not sure if this is the same elsewhere in the world?

Facebook page for a 13 y/o boy. Should I worry?We Answered:
okay, well, if you discovered it by say looking in his room in seeing him on it. Then one day ask him to show it to you. See who is friends are. Look at his friend list, and make sure you know a majority of the people on his list, or at least they go to his school or neighboring schools, that he went to middle school with (im assuming hes a 9th grader since middle schoolers are not allowed on) Also, while looking at his friend list, see if he has any "facebook friends" and if he does, make him remove them, because its not safe. Then in the upper right hand corner there is the word privacy settings. look at his privacy settings, and make sure only his friends can see his profile. not people in his network. Then make sure no external websites, can send him things. Finally, you should make su re, any added applications, are not ones where people who have those applications added cant look at stu ff about him. But, really if he is a smart kid hes already made all of the necessary precautions. And it really is safe.....
