(This question is from my sister) Middle school tips?

We Answered:

From my past experiences:

Do Not:

1 Wear too much makeup (None is best)
2 Wear provocative or skimpy clothing
3 Talk back to the teachers
4 Make rude comments to anybody or about anything
5 Skip on your homework
6 Seek attention (you will get the wrong type of attention)
7 Lend all of your supplies out to friends (you will never see them again)
8 flirt with or 'date' guys (I know you've heard it before, you're too young. And it gets in the way of school work and causes unnecessary trouble)
9 Hang out with people who can get you into trouble (drugs, boys, skipping school, etc.)

Do:
1 Listen well in class- you will learn more and find the work SO easy that way.
2 Be kind to everyone, even if you don't like them. Hint: Just avoid the people that you really don't like, don't make any smart remarks at them.
3 Make friends with only people that are like you, and only if they agree with a lot of things that you do. (That way, you will make friendships that last.)
4 Pass in assignments on time. It saves you a lot of stress. (start on them as soon as possible. It helps)
5 Obey the rules. I know it sounds cliche, but it really does make your experience in middle school easier, less trouble, and funner.

Don't worry too much about it. You get used to it quickly, and the work isn't hard (if you study and pay attention.) It is actually quite easy.

And, social problems arise in middle school quite frequently. Avoid them by not letting yourself get involved in other people's business.

Doing well in middle school can be very rewarding. If you do really well, there are many awards in the end!

LMAO!
You mean you've been playing all year and only thought to ask this question?
In any case, no one who REALLY played football would have to ask this question because one of the first things taught is positioning.

What are some good middle school tips?

We Answered:

Middle school generally doesn't have that much homework. I mean, you might be lucky; My science teacher didn't believe in giving homework, while most of my friends were stuck with one who gave out tests and assignments as much as she could. Though, again, you shouldn't get too much homework, anyways. I mean, it's not like you're going to high school. Now that's scary, haha. The homework for 7th grade isn't much, so don't worry. There'll be a bit more in 8th grade, but not that much you'll be worried about. :)

You won't get lost. You'll feel like you will, and you're nervous. It's cool. Everyone probably feels like that, but no worries. You'll get used to everything soon.

You'll make friends. Everyone does. And join a club or two. It's fun, and it's a great way to make friends. I got to meet some of the greatest people by joining one in my 7th grade year. ^^

Be ready for changes. Middle school is just the start of them. You'll have to be able to accept them, or spend the rest of your middle school years being disappointed.

My best friend and I are very distant now, and if your old friends start changing and you guys seem very distant, you have to accept it. You may not notice, but you'll be changing, too.

And just try and enjoy it. Your middle school experience will give you a whole bunch of life lessons, so if you mess up, you mess up, but you'll learn not to do it next time. Make friends, have fun, try your best, and don't grow up too fast because you have your whole life to. Don't rush things, alright? :)

Maybe you have some middle school tips?

We Answered:

Middle School is vastly different from elementary. I middle school you'll have more freedom but you'll also have more responsibility to go along with that freedom. Where in elementary your teachers helped you keep up with your assignments in middle school your teachers will have many more students and won't always remember to remind you. They'll also want you to learn to become more responsible.

You will be going through mental and physical changes that can affect your attitude and outlook. Remember that this is normal and if you don't already keep a journal start keeping one. You can journal about your feelings, your teachers, friends, guys etc.... It'll help you see things in perspective.

In middle school you'll be exposed to things you may not have been exposed to before. Pregnant peers, drugs, fights, peer pressure and lots of other things. The most important thing to remember is trouble is there if you look for it but if you respect yourself and your beliefs others will give you the respect you deserve. Ignore the haters and try to be nice to most everybody.

Enjoy your time in middle school. After the first couple of weeks it'll all be familiar you to you and you'll wonder what all of the fuss was about!!!

Middle school tips for the late fifth grader?

We Answered:

They'll tell you what you need either the first day or a few weeks before. Don't worry about it; its probably not that much different from what you are used to now. Many schools supply you with what you need and won't give you a detention for being unorganized. You will also probably have several days to get the supplies you do need.

Discuss It!
