Alice Said:

Tough math question, please help?

We Answered:

classic math problem (see it everywhere on internet)
method is very simple
all the open lockers will be touched odd number of times meaning that it will have odd number of factors, indicating it is a perfect square
so number of perfect squares from 1-500 can be calculated by taking square root of 500 and rounding down which is 22

so 22 lockers will be open
this is the simpliest method to solve it

hope this helps

Is anyone here an 8th grader from Newton Middle School?

We Answered:

You may not realize it, but it is really dangerous to tell people on-line where you live or go to school. There are perverts on here. Be careful!!!! Once someone starts harrassing you, it really sucks! Take it from me! I've had to change my email twice because of people like this!

Rebecca Said:

logic question?

We Answered:

JM - thanks for giving a clue without doing the person's homework.

All of the answers that gave an answer or a clue (except JM) are wrong.

Do what Jm said, kind of. This layout is much easier:
Write what happens to locker 1
Write what happens to locker 2
Write what happens to locker 3
. . .
A pattern develops rapidly.

If you run into a problem, use 'add detail' to describe it here for more help, but you need to actually do the work.

How is Newton's Second Law represented in baseball?

We Answered:

I assume you mean newton's third law for F=ma.

When the batter hits the baseball, the bat applies a force to the ball, which accelerates it back to the pitcher or (hopefully) past the outfielders.

Where did Sir Isaac Newton go to school for his child hood?

We Answered:

Newton began his schooling in the village schools and was later sent to The King's School, Grantham, where he became the top student in the school. At King's, he lodged with the local apothecary, William Clarke and eventually became engaged to the apothecary's stepdaughter, Anne Storey, before he went off to Cambridge University at the age of 19.
