By "homeschool", I'm sure they meant "home bound" (called by different names in various states). That means a tutor would come to your house and give her the school work, pick it up, help her, etc.

If your state has virtual charter public schools, you could go that route.

You can see if k12 is available in your area. It's actually a public charter so you will still be working under the public school guidelines. But, it is free. They will also provide you with a loaner computer and all other materials that you will need.

If you are not interested in being under government control there are other on-line programs but they are tuition based. If you plan on returning to public school some day make sure you choose a program that will prepare you for that. You can check out Morning Star, Calvert, Time 4 Learning or Laurel Springs to give you an idea of the options available to you.

A lot of students like K12, but also look at Kaplan and Connections Academy. All these programs are free although they all don't operate in every state.

Yes there are online schools, depending on the area you currently are i attended the virtual learning academy charter school which is a top notch online middle and high school and has authentic state approved diplomas. In that case you live in New Hampshire its free but if you are out of state you could still apply but it will be at 100$ tuition. Great school with real good teachers, i recommend go to the vlacs website at vlacs.org or check your respective state education dept.
