Physics For Middle School

Everett Said:

Physics degree or Physics teacher degree?

We Answered:

Physics and science in general are high-demand fields. NCLB requires that teachers have a major or its equivalent in the field in which they plan to teach. I assume that the people who run the education department know what they are doing, so it should be okay to go through the secondary education program. You should check to see if you would able to teach general science, science survey, physical science, etc. after completing the program.

Janice Said:

A SIMPLE middle school level science project... in the cateogory science or physics?

We Answered:

Being a science teacher, I don't think there's anything that you can do for a science project that will take just a few minutes. Doing a decent project takes longer than that. :-)

Jack Said:

If I did not take AP Calculus or AP Physics in high school, is there any other way I can take them?

We Answered:

You can take them over the summer at community college, but summer classes are very intense - taking them both at once isn't a great idea. You could take calculus (and calculus at community college is better than AP calc anyway) and then take calculus-based physics your first year in college.

Mabel Said:

Currently a sophomore in high school, what are my chances of getting into medical school?

We Answered:

I would be careful about thinking that just because you do well in high school, you will do well in college. I was in the top 5% of my high school class graduating *** laude and then went to an Ivy League school. Going to college was a learning experience for me. I realized that I was one of many fish in an ocean full of smart fish. Even though I never had any problems in getting good grades in high school (I went to a prep school with a strong academic reputation), it was a different story in college. I had to work much harder and build better studying habits. High school is cake compared to college and college is cake compared to medical school. Just a word of caution. But if you persevere and keep at it, you can do it. The field of medicine is a never ending learning process with endless exams and certifications. Good luck.

Currently a cardiology fellow.

Ann Said:

I'm a Junior in high School i've taken honors biology chemistry, honors physics im good in math and science to?

We Answered:

You can make a lot of money in either of the fields you mentioned or in many other fields. The key to making a lot of money is doing the kind of work you really enjoy. You see, when you really enjoy what you are doing, you will be much better at it than you would be if you did not really enjoy it. When you do well, you will be paid well.

Good luck to you!
