Could someone help me to cut down my Grad School purpose statement to about 2 pages, (it's currently 4-5)?We Answered:
if you want to cut this down, try starting with the questions then to the main point, that will reduce sentences, hence. less gobbledygook. ^_^Jonathan Said:

You start losing the reader's interest here:"During undergrad, I found myself enchanted with classes such as Turning Points in U.S. History #1 which examined the Black slave from colonial times to the beginning of reconstruction, Turning Points in U.S. History #2 which examined the Black man during the height of the second freedom struggle know as the Civil Rights Movement, and Africana Studies which examined the modern African-American experience today in America – and was taught by a professor with a professed Pan-Africanist point of view. This Pan-Africanist prospective opened my eyes not only to Pan-Africanism, but also to having a more internationalist perspective of current events."
Having been through this process, I know how easy it is to try putting mucho detail about every nuance of your education into the application. But were I you, edit down the specifics of literally every class you ever took. Instead, focus on your passion and fascination with Zionism, Pan-Africanism, the Civil Rights movement, and the similar struggles throughout the world. Or is it your goal to focus on one issue in History and become an expert on that, such as Pan-Africanism or the Civil Rights movement? It's better to show your passion and how you've absorbed what you've been taught than it is to rehash it course-by-course.
Don't forget, they do have your transcript in the application materials you submit, so they'll easily know what you've taken already. So focus instead on how your passion has been sparked and what you want to do with your wealth of knowledge once you're done. Do you want to teach at the HS level? Are you so passionate that you want to spend years in academic research and go on to teach at the collegiate level? Do you see a role for yourself as an advisor to a Council for International Relations?
Give them a view of yourself that your transcript can't tell.

I need to help about Post college plans? We Answered:
Some schools will be more accepting of students with extenuating circumstances. I'd stress in the application your choice to change career paths and the effect choosing the wrong one had on your GPA. 2.7 isn't horrible as a cumulative for someone who wasn't in the right place in the first stab at choosing a major - if your psychology and political science grades are much higher, stress that.Doing something that leverages your Afghani heritage can only help - there's significant interest in the country for obvious reasons, and very little true insight on the culture. There's a window of opportunity there.

Tips about classes in High School and IB program? We Answered:
Well, you sound a lot more prepared than I was.Science - You sound like you'll be fine. I don't take biology but from what I've heard it's all content so you need good memorization skills. Your honors classes should prepare you well for that though.
History - Its not really about geography at all. But you do need to be good at remembering dates, names, etc. But this comes with writing essays and essays plans. Understanding of the content is crucial, so is having general knowledge about history and countries. Write a lot of essays and essay plans.
Math - There was mostly algebra in the presumed knowledge section. You seem to have that down.
Overall - Make sure you do all of your homework as understanding the work as you learn it is essential if you want to pass. Because if you don't get it now, how are you going to in two years?.
My history teacher does tests for us every couple of weeks that we don't study for, and this tests our short term memory. She also does tons of analogies which are helpful and we have to summarize the content after we learn a something new. We do tons of diagrams and charts which are helpful too.
The great thing about IB math, physics, and chem (not sure about bio but probably), is that we get resource booklets that contain formulas, periodic tables, etc. So they are less of a test of your memory and more of your understanding. Our teachers gave them to us at the beginning of the program so that we got used to flipping through them to find the right thing - cos they're pretty thick. So make sure they do that.
Don't miss school unless you can help it, it's too much effort to catch up. Listen in class and ask the teacher for help, tutorials, etc.
Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Talk to people who have done it, people who did well and people who didn't so that you have an idea of what its like. There is a lot of stuff on Urban Dictionary and IB Quotes and IB FML that is really negative so read that if you like but it doesn't actually tell you much. I think it was don't by people who are struggling with the program and are having a vent.
At first, we were failing almost everything. But by half way through, it got better. Once you get over that initial shock of the program, there isn't a huge leap in difficulty between the first and second year. I went from 30% to 75% in physics after mid way through first year!
Good luck! And remember to hang out with your friends as much as possible. It's a lot of work but if you neglect your social life you get really down.
I cant believe i wrote this much, its the IB.
Hope it helps, I'm sure you'll do fine
