do the diet coke and mentos experiment and explain the chemical reaction behind it. answer some questions and explain it your report:
1. what causes the reaction?
2. can you use regular coke to get the same reaction? why is or why isn't it different
3. do different sodas (cherry, orange, grape) make the reaction go faster? slower? or the same? can you even do it with flavored sodas?
4. can you use different mints? why or why not?
5. is it safe to drink diet coke and eat mentos at the same time?
6. how much force is behind the blast?
7. exothermic or endothermic reaction?
8. does the amount of fluid or the amount of mentos affect the height of the blast?

do some experiments at home with your friends and get your parents to fund it. see if you can do an in-class demonstration with it.
