Summer Reading List Middle School

Ross Said:

I"m going to a new school!! HELP!!??!?

We Answered:

Moving sucks. You will get made fun of. This is nothing new. Just be yourself, find a few people in your new neighborhood over the summer and make a couple of friends to start the year with.

Regina Said:

Where can I find the "Bluford" series of books? (Possibly out of print?)?

We Answered:

I don't know the Bluford series of books but did a quick search and came up with a few things.

First is from a website called _Embracing the Child_ -- it looks reputable and you can register to win te Bluford series.

It also looks like Amazon has the Bluford series for sale (and the few I looked through also look like they have them in stock). However, I couldn't find a collection of the series (such as a box set) on Amazon.

Finally, I've given you Townsend Press's website where you can order individual books, a box set of the books 1-10 and a box set of all 13 (the link goes to the all 13 but there is a drop-down menue at the top that you can navigate around more.

Hope this helps! Good luck.

Summer reading books?

We Answered:

Realistic fiction
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson - girl embarks on a European quest directed by her eccentric aunt. Her aunt leaves her 13 envelopes with instructions.

Eva Underground by Dandi Daley Mackall - could also be labeled historical fiction, but of the 1970's. Eva moves to Communist Poland with her father in the late 1970's. Some romance.

Mystery
Down the Rabbit Hole or Behind the Curtain by Peter Abrahams. 13 year old girl with a love of Sherlock Holmes and the theater finds herself embroiled in mystery.

Drama
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult - Story or a young girl who was born because she was a tissue match for her cancer ridden sister.

Fantasy
The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly - Boy discovers the entrance to an alternate world hidden near his back yard. That description doesn't give it credit, but I don't want to give anything away.

Action
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - 2 kids from each region are forced by the government to participate in a very intense game show type forum. Lame summary, but I don't want to spoil it.

Suspense
The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney - Teen recognizes the face of a missing child on a milk carton as herself.

Romance
Beastly by Alex Flinn - Beauty and the Beast, but in high school.

Summer reading help???

We Answered:

Book 1. Meg cabot is the best!!!!!!!!!

I recommend Meg Cabot's young adult books. She is the best author. Also best selling. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), Jinx, and more. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her.

If you want more info or meg cabot's website email me.
