It sounds like you are dealing with a lot of confusion, which is probably pretty normal for the stage you are at in your life. In fact, although they probably hide it well, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the other people at your school sometimes feel the same way.

My family moved around a bit when I was younger, and it's not easy. You always feel a bit like a fish out of water and it's hard to find good friends when everybody already has their little groups all worked out. People sometimes like to say that your school days are the best days of your life - well, that was not how my experience went. While parts of it can be fun, the way I see it school is something to be endured, not enjoyed. After leaving school I became a much happier and more confident person.

I'm not going to tell you to "just be yourself, who cares what anyone thinks" because the truth is, we all care what other people think. My advice to you would be, do whatever you have to do to make life as easy as possible for yourself. If that means putting on a happy face sometimes, well - it might be for the best, even if it feels fake. As long as you are still the same person on the inside, playing the game a little doesn't hurt - we all have to do it sometimes.

Hopefully when you get to high school, you will be lucky enough to meet some good people who really like who you are, and those friendships will be strong enough to carry you through all the pretense. Trust me sweetie, most of your "friendships" at school don't survive beyond a few years after you graduate - treasure the people who are important to you, and just put up with the rest while you have to.

If you honestly think you might have some emotional problems, maybe try talking to your school counsellor, or a friend or family member who you trust. I remember 8th grade as a difficult, confusing time - you shouldn't feel like you're weird or that you're the only one who feels a little lost sometimes. It may be a lot more common than you think.
