Does poor eyesight affect your chances of getting a Army ROTC scholarship?

We Answered:

No, as long as your eyesight is corrected to 20/20, you are good to go. The main thing that poor eyesight will restrict you from is being a pilot.

Gregory Said:

What is the name of the regulation that allows you to drop your army rotc scholarship during freshman year?

We Answered:

I would say talk to the Army ROTC people at your school. they would know the best, and would be able to assist you in getting that started.

If you are completely worried they might say no, and then you could suffer over it then send an anonymous email to them (through another email than the one they have) or to another school asking. Say you are interested and may qualify for the scholarship next year. But you want to know what the penalty is if you decide to change your mind after your freshmen year.

Kristina Said:

Is there any way around of my parents having to sign an Army ROTC scholarship application?

We Answered:

The only way around it is to have a long conversation with your parents about what your future plans are. You can wait until your 18 but I advise you to resolve the issues that your parents have. Joining the military at times like these can be very stressful to the parents. You need to make them understand that this is what you have your mind set on and that nothing can deter you from it. It's always good to have your parent's support. Good luck.

Max Said:

How to drop a 4 year army ROTC scholarship as a freshman, after first semester and additional questions?

We Answered:

You can drop as a freshman and not have to pay any back. After your freshman year they will hijack your tax returns until they get it all. If you are going to drop ... do it now. Tell the ROTC ROO. They will cancel your scholarship.

Make sure that is what you really want to do. Once done ... no turning back. Do not let a little fear of the unknown keep you from all the rewards of service .. but it is your decision friend.
