If you are a Gates Scholar, you should focus on skill-building activities that help you in your career goal, not getting extra money. I agree, a BA in psychology is problematic without graduate school. Perhaps you should major in something more vocationally-oriented--ideas would be social work, urban planning, communications or human resources management. Those would help you get a decent job out of school (social work would require more schooling for licensing).
