College Scholarship Opportunities

Marjorie Said:

If you are attending college on an academic scholarship, what are the opportunities awaiting after graduation?

We Answered:

It doesn't really make a difference as far as you job, but you can put the scholarship as an achievement on your resume, and you won't have student-loan debt. :)

Bryan Said:

My school has a new high school and therefore poor scholarship/college opportunities, how do I achieve...?

We Answered:

Start by being MUCH more careful on your college applications about spelling and grammar than you were here. As an admissions decision-maker, I can tell you that such things get laughed at, and certainly you'll stand little chance of even getting IN to Northwestern or Duke, much less getting scholarships there, if you can't pay attention to the details.

Don't feel locked in to UCF, but don't set your sights too high either. There are lots of middle-tier high-quality liberal arts colleges that you can get into, or at least have a chance at. Do some research, and find a place that fits your needs. Don't just skip out on the process. It's your future, and if you don't work through it, don't expect anyone else to do it for you.

Nathan Said:

Full-ride scholarship opportunities for first-year college students?

We Answered:

The full ride scholarships tend to go to the very best students (or athletes) to attract them to campus. A good, but not exceptional student, is not going to get that kind of scholarship. However, there are many private colleges and a few public universities who offer generous financial aid to students in financial need.

Dennis Said:

Where is a good place to find scholarship opportunities that apply to many colleges, not just one specific one

We Answered:

http://www.ReviewScholarships.com you can find scholarship search engines, scholarship guides and individual listings for scholarship contests that are given based upon you, not the school you are attending.

Monica Said:

what are some websites like fastweb.com that show you scholarship/contests for college money opportunities?

We Answered:

You can easily do an internet search for "scholarships" and get a ton of websites to sign up for, but there are many more ways to find scholarships. Libraries have books that list scholarships by your interests, hobbies, race, intended college major, etc... High schools have lists of local scholarships you can apply for. Don't limit yourself to the scholarship search sites on the internet. You can find out how to make your scholarship applications stand out and get noticed by the judges by going to the website below. Good luck!!
