Since you are on public aid, I do not understand why you do not qualify for the Pell. Go to your local employment office and ask to talk to a WIA counselor. The WIA program stands for "Workforce Investment Act" sometimes pays for individuals to go to school.Dianne Said:

There are a couple of options available to you. Are you looking for public or private scholarships? Fill out the FAFSA. Being a single mom will get you grant money as well as the government loans that every person is guaranteed. If you dont make much, you may get a lot of grant money (which doesnt have to be paid back). Since you have a child, what your parents make doesnt effect you anymore, only what you make will determine how much you get. I suggest going to a community college. The grant money and loan money will more than cover your costs and you can get a cheap, 2 year nursing degree from there.
