Scholarships for a third year elementary Education college student any ideas? We Answered:

It's tough with a high EFC to get scholarships from colleges. You could also check into alternative loans which would be in your name and are differed until 6 months after graduation (your parents would need to co-sign). Check with you FA office to find out their preferred lender aka CitiAssist.

Is an elementary education degree worth it?We Answered:
If you don't love teaching, DO NOT DO IT.Teachers who don't love teaching are miserable - teachers who love teaching are so happy.
So it is worth it if you love teaching.
Moneywise though...well, you won't get rich from teaching.

Where can I find information on paying for a higher education.?We Answered:
Here's a place to start: http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/index.jspalso, if you are getting it at a Public University, you have more funds available. There aren't a whole lot of resources for Post Grad education but there are some! Also, most schools have a Federal Perkins Loan program. I STRONGLY recommend you contact the Financial Aid dept at the school where you will get your Master's. If you haven't decided on a school yet, call one of your potentials or look at their website, there should be a resources page. GOOD LUCK!!!!

scholarships or grants for elementary education field? We Answered:
Unfortunately, in many areas there is an oversupply of elementary ed majors, so there are very few programs specifically for those majors. The feds will help pay back loans if you are willing to teach in an area with a shortage ( some inner cities, very remote/rural areas etc).
