Elementary School Scholarships

Carmen Said:

Are there grants/scholarships for elementary school age children? My daughter's tuition is $6800 for K5! HELP!?

We Answered:

Does the school have a financial aid program? What about other nearby private schools?

You can try Google: Financial aid private school Your City (or Your State) and see if anything comes up.

Family?

There is always getting a second job. That's what a lot of people seem to do to pay for private school. Some even get loans.

If you don't like your neighborhood public school, what about another school in the district, or a charter or magnet school, or a permit to go out of district.

Good luck!

Todd Said:

How can you get accepted to and scholarships for private pre-school, elementary, middle, and high schools?

We Answered:

Private schools take most kids who have solid academic records (or academic promise for earlier years), a clean record and of course the money to pay for it.

They do not exclude everyone who cannot pay. If you are interested in a school then apply for it and ask the admissions director for information about scholarships and/or financial aid. There may not be as much for pre-school and this is often viewed as a day care, but if the financial situation is bleak then you could have a chance.

are there scholarships available for elementary school students?

We Answered:

Sure, but not too many. I would recommend going to www.fastweb.com to use their free scholarship search, to try to find one for an elementary school student. Good luck!

Gertrude Said:

I need to find a scholarship for an elementary school track athlete with asthma?

We Answered:

Why not get her involved in raising the money? Do a tag sale, bake sale, car wash, candy bar sale- whatever. Or hold an event like a dinner dance- you make the food and provide music and sell tix to family and friends. Teach her to get involved and make things happen, in addition to looking for outside help.

Marion Said:

Financial Aid for private elementary school?

We Answered:

There are no private school scholarships. The state provides free public education and expects you to pay on your own if you decide to use private schools.

However, Sallie Mae offers a private loan called the K-12 Family Education Loan. This can be used to pay for private school tuition and books.
