He won't be able to get into college completely for free, but he can get some good grants or scholarships. Here are some good sites:

Lillie Said:

Do college students to better in college if they get free scholarships. Also, get better jobs? ?

We Answered:

Usually ( not always) those students that have scholarships for college have to maintain a certain GPA to keep their scholarship. So say a student has to maintain a 3.5 in order to keep a scholarship, then the student is going to strive to maintain a 3.5. In that sense, you could say that students with scholarships do better academically. I don't feel that translates to them getting "better jobs". A student without a scholarship could get a "better" internship then a student with a scholarship. For example, I know a guy who is in his 6th year at a 4 year college partically because he transfered, has no scholarships, but has interned at Nike Inc. for the past 3 years and is graduating this year.

But, I don't feel having a scholarship attributes to your academic success.
