How To Get Scholarships For College
Sam Said:
How can a softmore in highschool begin geting college scholarships.?We Answered:
First off, learn how to spell sophomore.Do you have any special talents, abilities or skill? Do you do any volunteer work? I'm on a committee that gives out 2 scholarships a year to college students. Last year we had 43 applicants. Forget about being in the Key Club, NHS, or other student organizations. What we looked for was good grades, doing something good out of school, and what you planned to do once you were in college. Out of the 43, there were about 12 that all deserved a scholarship, we could only give out 2. Start applying now. Your guidance counselor should have a list.

Scholarships, College, Life, Stress, Money.?We Answered:
You honestly sound like you're doing a wonderful job so far! Do you qualify for any FAFSA, considering your parents' income? How is your personal credit? I would try something like Sallie Mae or any of the other smaller loan companies (that give educational loans...I'm in no way condoning short term loans or anything like that). Also, lots of local business give scholarships that you can apply for. Things like Toastmasters, Rotary, Rotaract, Kiawanis, Knights of Columbus--those almost always have scholarships. I hope this helps a little! Congratulations on all your achievements!Margie Said:
How can I look for college scholarships that require no essays? We Answered:
Hello how are you? A lot of students have been finding success with Scholarship Support. They provide free information and services that help students get money for college. They also have scholarships that you can apply for by submitting your name and a little information about yourself. Some scholarships don't require an essay. Good Luck! I hope this helpsCarlos Said:
How Do I Get Money for College? Scholarships ?We Answered:
OkYou can find scholarships at the following sources
www.fastwebs.com
www.collegeboard.com
Next,
There are many scholarships provided by the college itself. Once you apply and you are accepted ask about them.
Also
FAFSA funds and loans are based on your and your parent's income or your EFC. Has nothing to do with the amount of money is needed for college.
Lastly,
You can always check out state funded grants or scholarships.
There is money out there, just takes a little leg work on your part.
Susan Said:
What do I include in a personal statement for college scholarships? We Answered:
I would Include that you are a single parent of x number of kids, this shows that you have determination to beat the odds, and accomplish potentially insurmountable tasks. Talk about your jobs, why you want a degree, and why now is the time to get it. Tell the admissions board about your strengths, and tell them that you know you have weaknesses (mention what they are) and that you are working on strengthening those parts of your life. Mention any Interests that you have, and what you plan on majoring in.
