Nursing Scholarships And Grants

Robin Said:

nursing scholarships or grants for school?

We Answered:

Your financial aid office should be able to help you with this. The government does offer grants for those entering nursing, who will work at a hospital in need for at least two years. My brother in law is getting is nursing education paid for this way.

Caroline Said:

where is the best place to find legit scholarships and grants for nursing school?

We Answered:

First of all check with your parents places of employment and yours (if you have a job). You can also check with local organizations. Also, talk to your financial advisor he could help tell you where to look for your area. Try nursing organizations. (like the american nurses association). The average nurse is 45 yrs old. With the baby boomers aging, there are more in need of healthcare, along with most of the nurses being a boomer. This is causing the cost of nursing school to raise. In PA we have a loan forgiveness program for nursing majors. Naturally, they have to graduate and work for 1 yr as a nurse or nurse educator before they can receive it, but the state will pay back up to 25% of the debt (not exceeding $12,500) if Mississippi has something like this it might make you a little more comfortable with taking some extra loans if at all possible.
Good luck.

Don Said:

Does anyone know of scholarships or grants for people wanting to go to nursing school?

We Answered:

I have seen ads in my local paper for hospitals willing to pay tuition. Nursing is a critical shortage in almost every state. Do some research and see if you have a local hospital that is willing to pay for your education in exchange for your loyalty when you graduate.
